RedPaint Content Guidelines
For Vendors, Users, and Moderators
Last updated: April 29, 2026
RedPaint is designed to help users discover great places to eat, drink, visit, enjoy, explore, and support — while giving businesses a smarter way to promote their offers, events, rewards, and services.
To maintain a high-quality and trustworthy platform, all content submitted to RedPaint must meet these Content Guidelines, our Ethical Code of Conduct, and our Terms of Service.
These guidelines apply to all content, including:
- Vendor profile images
- Special offer images
- Event images
- Gift and reward images
- Banner advertisements
- Profile text and descriptions
- Any future user-uploaded images or profile content
RedPaint reserves the right to moderate, decline, edit, remove, or reject any content that does not meet these guidelines. In serious cases, RedPaint may suspend or terminate an account, with or without prior notice.
If you believe content was incorrectly declined or removed, or if you notice content that may violate these guidelines, please contact RedPaint Support.
1. General Content Standards
All content submitted to RedPaint must be:
- Relevant to the business, category, offer, event, reward, or service being promoted.
- Accurate and not misleading.
- Professional in appearance, wording, and presentation.
- Original or properly authorised for use.
- Suitable for a broad audience.
- Compliant with applicable laws and RedPaint’s Terms of Service.
Content must not contain anything that is:
- Harmful, offensive, vulgar, profane, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable.
- Defamatory, misleading, dishonest, or deceptive.
- Invasive of another person’s privacy.
- Promoting illegal activity, gambling, money laundering, or unlawful services.
- Copied from another vendor, platform, website, or third party without permission.
2. Vendor Responsibilities
Vendors are responsible for ensuring that all content uploaded to RedPaint is accurate, current, lawful, and professionally presented.
Vendors must:
- Keep business information, trading hours, menus, prices, offers, events, and rewards up to date.
- Select the correct industry category or categories for their business.
- Ensure that all promotions, gifts, rewards, and offers can genuinely be honoured.
- Avoid using misleading images, exaggerated claims, or false promises to attract customers.
- Obtain permission before using photos of identifiable people.
- Submit only content that they own, created themselves, or have permission to use.
Using rewards, gifts, specials, or events to attract customers without the genuine intention or ability to deliver them may be treated as unethical conduct and may result in account suspension or termination.
3. Image Requirements
Images are a major part of how users discover and engage with businesses on RedPaint. Clear, attractive, and relevant images improve your chances of getting attention and generating engagement.
Required Image Format
All images submitted to RedPaint must be:
- Landscape orientation
- 16:9 aspect ratio (or as close as possible for best display)
- Clear, sharp, and high-resolution
- Properly cropped
- Relevant to the content being submitted
Images that are portrait, square, poorly cropped, distorted, blurry, stretched, or not suitable for the RedPaint display format may be declined.
4. Images That May Be Declined
RedPaint may decline or remove images for any of the following reasons:
Poor Image Quality
Images may be declined if they are:
- Blurry or low-resolution.
- Out of focus.
- Poorly lit.
- Distorted or stretched.
- Badly cropped.
- Covered by shadows, including the shadow of a person, hand, phone, or camera.
- Not in landscape format.
- Not in the required 16:9 ratio (or as close as possible for best display).
Irrelevant Images
Images may be declined if they:
- Do not relate to the vendor’s business.
- Do not match the vendor’s selected category or categories.
- Promote unrelated products, services, brands, or businesses.
- Misrepresent what the vendor actually offers.
For example, a vendor listed only under Hunting & Safaris should not upload nightclub images as profile images.
Unacceptable Food or Product Presentation
Food, beverage, or product images may be declined if they show:
- Half-eaten food.
- Raw food in preparation, unless clearly appropriate for the business type.
- Messy, unappealing, or unhygienic presentation.
- Products or meals that do not accurately represent what customers can expect.
Plagiarised or Unauthorised Images
Images may be declined or removed if they appear to be copied from:
- Another RedPaint vendor.
- Another website or platform.
- Stock libraries without permission.
- Social media pages without authorisation.
- Any third party without the right to use the image.
5. Profile Images
Vendor profile images should represent the business clearly and professionally.
Profile images should show things such as:
- The venue or atmosphere.
- Food, drinks, products, services, or facilities.
- The customer experience.
- The business environment.
- The vendor’s own branding, where appropriate.
Profile Image Restrictions
Profile images may not be used as promotional posters.
Profile images should not contain:
- Special offer wording.
- Event advertising.
- Promotional text.
- Large graphic overlays.
- Third-party brand advertising.
- Watermarks, except where approved.
- Logos of other brands, unless clearly relevant and permitted.
The vendor’s own logo may be used where appropriate.
This restriction applies mainly to profile images. Different rules apply to specials, events, gifts, rewards, and banner advertisements.
6. Images for Specials, Events, Gifts, Rewards, and Banner Ads
Images submitted for specials, events, gifts, rewards, and banner advertisements may contain:
- Text
- Graphics
- Logos
- Watermarks
- Promotional wording
- Offer details
- Event details
- Brand references, where relevant and lawful
However, these images must still comply with the general content standards, must be relevant to the promotion, and must be submitted in landscape format with a 16:9 ratio.
7. Banner Advertisement Rules
Banner advertisements may be declined if:
- The image is blurry, low-resolution, distorted, or poorly designed.
- The image is not in landscape 16:9 format (or not close enough for good display).
- The banner does not relate to the vendor’s business or selected categories.
- The banner promotes unrelated products, services, websites, or businesses.
- The linked URL directs users to content unrelated to the vendor’s business.
- The banner contains offensive, misleading, unlawful, or inappropriate content.
8. Misrepresentation and False Advertising
Vendors may not use images, text, rewards, offers, events, or banner ads that mislead users.
Content may be declined or removed if it:
- Creates a false impression of the business.
- Uses images that do not represent the actual product, venue, service, or experience.
- Advertises an offer that is unavailable or cannot be honoured.
- Uses exaggerated or deceptive claims.
- Attempts to attract customers under false pretences.
9. Permission to Use Images of People
Vendors must obtain the necessary permission before uploading images that include identifiable people.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Customers
- Staff members
- Performers
- Event attendees
- Children or minors
RedPaint is not responsible for claims arising from a vendor’s failure to obtain the required permission before uploading or publishing such images.
10. Moderation and Declined Submissions
All submitted content may be reviewed before or after publication.
If your content is declined, RedPaint may notify you by email, push notification, or in-app message, where applicable. The notification may include the reason for the rejection and allow you to correct and resubmit the content.
A declined submission should be viewed as a quality-control measure intended to help maintain the professional standard of the platform.
Repeated violations may result in further action, including account restrictions, suspension, or termination.
11. Ethical Code of Conduct for Vendors
Vendors must act honestly, professionally, and responsibly when using RedPaint.
Vendors must not:
- Upload misleading or deceptive content.
- Use offers, gifts, or rewards they cannot honour.
- Copy content from other vendors or third parties.
- Abuse the moderation process.
- Attempt to influence moderators.
- Offer money, gifts, meals, discounts, or benefits in exchange for content approval.
- Use RedPaint to promote unrelated businesses, services, or unlawful activity.
Vendors are encouraged to maintain high service standards and resolve customer complaints professionally and constructively.
12. Moderators and Platform Integrity
RedPaint moderators are required to apply these guidelines fairly and impartially.
Moderators may not:
- Claim special authority at a vendor’s premises for personal gain.
- Ask vendors for discounts, free meals, gifts, drinks, money, or special treatment.
- Offer approval or rejection of content in exchange for any benefit.
- Threaten vendors with declined submissions.
- Participate in groups or arrangements where moderation decisions are influenced by incentives.
- Show favouritism toward any vendor.
Any vendor who experiences or observes this behaviour should report it to RedPaint Support.
Violations may result in the removal of the moderator’s account or other appropriate action.
13. Business Owner Moderation Restrictions
To protect the neutrality and integrity of RedPaint, vendors, business owners, staff members, and affiliates with related business interests may not moderate other vendors on the platform.
This helps prevent bias, unfair treatment, conflicts of interest, and improper moderation decisions.
14. User Reporting
Users and vendors may report content that appears to violate these guidelines or RedPaint’s Terms of Service.
RedPaint reviews reports carefully. However, content that someone finds disagreeable, unattractive, or personally offensive may not automatically qualify for removal unless it violates these guidelines.
15. Legal and Safety Matters
RedPaint is not a court of law, law enforcement body, health inspectorate, or regulatory authority.
If you have a legal dispute, safety concern, health complaint, or allegation of unlawful activity involving a listed vendor, you should contact the appropriate authority directly.
RedPaint may moderate platform content, but it does not investigate or adjudicate external legal, criminal, regulatory, or health-and-safety matters.
16. RedPaint’s Commitment
RedPaint is committed to maintaining a trustworthy, professional, and useful platform for users and vendors.
Our goal is to help users discover relevant businesses, offers, events, rewards, and experiences — while helping vendors present themselves professionally and honestly.
By using RedPaint, you agree to follow these Content Guidelines, RedPaint’s Ethical Code of Conduct, and our Terms of Service.
